The Elevation and I have been recording new songs at Henley Row. The studio was built by NL&TE producer and bandmate, Dan Nicklin. It has an inspiring familial vibe and is packed with excellent gear. I deliberately kept the band in the dark about the new tracks and didn’t give them much to work on before we recorded. I’m really happy with how they responded and kept the music in the moment.
A snippet of the track “When You’re Ready (Find Your Way)” is below.
I recently performed solo at Sofar Boston. The event was held at Workbar in Cambridge, MA.
I recorded a cover of the Julie Rhodes song “See The Sun” and contributed it to this compilation record to help out our friend Jennifer Holmes. Read more about Jennifer below.
In January 2016, our friend Jennifer Holmes was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Jennifer has attended almost every Outlaw Roadshow event since the beginning, traveling all the way from Washington state. An email thread started between a core group of the Outlaw Roadshow organizers and artists to see if we could do something to help Jennifer out. We decided on a compilation album consisting of Outlaw Roadshow alumni covering each others’ songs. All of the proceeds of the album sales will go to Jennifer to help with her mounting medical expenses.
I showed some new songs (and fresh haircut) to The Elevation recently at Dan Nicklin’s wonderful new studio, Henley Row. We’ll be tracking them soon!
2016 was a busy year between releasing and promoting my solo EP and a year long residency with Oldjack. Being nominated for two Boston Music Awards, Singer Songwriter of the Year and Best Ongoing Residency: Oldjack’s Last Saturdays, made it all the more fulfilling and memorable. The latter of which won in that category.
Now that 2016 is behind me, I’m looking forward to making some new music with friends in 2017. More to come!
